A nice hot bath at the end of the day is the perfect treat, especially this season. Did you know that it takes very little to turn a relaxing bath into a full-fledged detox experience?

The benefits of a nice bath with salt

The benefits of a detoxifying bath are felt above all in the legs and in the lower part of the body in general, the one that most suffers from water retention and swelling.

Whether you have a sedentary lifestyle, or you practice sports at high levels with consequent muscle soreness (DOMS), taking the good habit of preparing one detox bath a week helps relieve accumulated stress, fight insomnia, improve psychophysical well-being and strengthening the immune system.

Bath with Epsom salt: why do you use it to detox?

Bath with salt

The salt bath helps deflate and drain because it "attracts" excess fluids towards the outside of the body.

You don't need so many ingredients or complex preparations to prepare an effective detox bath!
All detoxifying baths are made with a simple basic ingredient: Epsom salt.

Epsom salt is not a real salt, but a pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate. Studies have shown that magnesium and sulfate are absorbed through the skin, making Epsom salt baths a simple and pleasant way to enjoy the benefits of these two substances.

  • The magnesium contained in Epson salt reduces inflammation and also helps muscle and nerve function.
  • Sulfates help improve nutrient absorption and eliminate toxins from the body.

It is important to make detoxifying baths not only to relieve muscle pain but also to eliminate all the toxins we come into contact with every day.

For complete detoxification both in the bathtub and outside, I recommend giving your body a special detox supplement, designed to support the correct function of the liver, kidneys, and intestines, the main detoxification pathways of the body.

Purify in the tank with 3 ingredients

Here are the 3 simple natural ingredients with detoxifying power that ensure a real cleansing bath:

  •     2 cups of Epsom salt
  •     1 cup of baking soda
  •     5-10 drops of essential oil (I recommend lavender essential oil, the ultimate in relaxation!)

Make sure you fill the tub so that most of your body is underwater. The water should be warm (around 37 °- 38 °) so that the body sweats. Now comes the best part: close your eyes and relax all the muscles in your body for a good 20 minutes. Do you feel the beneficial action?

After the 20 minutes of soaking, take all the time necessary to get out of the bathroom calmly, to avoid pressure drops and dizziness. At this point, the top would be to take a nice shower with cold water to get out of the stupor and shake the circulation.

The extra gear

It is really important to hydrate yourself very well both before and immediately after the detox bath, perhaps sipping a water-based cleansing drink with added natural phytonutrients and a good mix of vitamins and minerals.

Et voila! Detox is served!
